My lawyer said the same thing. As long as USCIS understands what is written there is no problem. He wrote annual income and send the form.

Till date I have not received my FP notice. I applied for my EAD (even though I am not planning on using it) hoping to jump start my pending 485 and get the things rolling for FP and processing of 485. Surprisingly, I got my EAD approval email on Aug 17th and I received my EAD card in the mail yesterday. It is valid for 2 years. It says finger prints not available. No change in the pending 485 status.
I am totally perplexed about receiving the EAD without FP and so is my attorney. Can someone give me an idea of what is going on? Any input is appreciated! Thanks much!

So that means in my case, if some company agrees to file H1 for me, i will not be counted towards quota. Please let me know if my understanding is correct?

Hi,
I had my last name misspelled and middle name missing on my filed perm labor application and it was filed on 12/12/2007. It was selected for audit in Feb 2008 and have not received any update until now. Can this error in my name be corrected on my application. Please advice.
Sorry to say this, but it was dumb to have sent an application with misspelled last name! You got to check and recheck before filing it.
DOL audits do take a long time, write to them about the error. Also, get the help of an attorney (labor or immigration)

I read the link posted. This is an independent think tank about movement of people worldwide and the report in general analyses the three upcoming bills in relation to EB and non EB immigration and illegals. Overall the bill states that immigration is of benefit to the US and the degree of benefit depends on the legality and skill level of the immigrants, and they suggest that Family category 4 and DV category should be eliminated and used for EB immigration and also suggest readjusting the per country cap to accomadate for the reality of more immigrants from the retrogressed countries. I think this is good and we should include this in our presentation to the lawmakers, this will carry good weight.

The H-3 trainee visa is a non-immigrant visa option for foreign nationals seeking training in any field of endeavor, including, but not limited to, commerce, communications, finance, government, transportation, agriculture, or the professions (except physicians).

Th I-140 is not revoked yet, but the original company that filed it is going to split in to 2 separate companies by the end of the year and I think I-140 will become invalid after that right if the original company doesnt exist anymore??

Thanks a bunch parablergh. 3months is a long time to get a replacement I797! I don't know if there is a shortcut to get the SSN by showing a notarized copy of the I797 that we have instead of waiting for the duplicate one from USCIS.

I am on H1B visa. My visa expires in April 2010. I was arrested in New York for a misdemeanor charge which was subsequently dismissed by the court. There was no guilty plea etc so under immigration law too I DO NOT have a conviction. I have all the final court docs. I am travelling to India to renew my H1B visa. I have a few questions -
(i) Is there a possibility that I am selected for 221 g screening? How long does the 221 g screen take?
(ii) Since I have a valid visa am I allowed to enter the US while they are completing the process? I have left the country before and entered on my current visa. I was sent for additional screening at the airport but had no issues since I have all the court documents.
Any insights would be appreciated

It is unlikely that your I-140 was revoked because usually they are revoked only for fraud. Also, there is no limit on the time you can have I-140 approved before filing for I-485 and continuing your case. Most likely you cannot file I-485 anyway due to retrogression.

The text is printed on your SSN card based on your visa status at the time of application. EAD is also a temporary status, this also requires a renewal. Hence, you would not be able to "remove" the text from your SSN card until your receive the GC.

Based on the predictions for the November 7th 2006 elections for the House, looks like the democrats will grab a considerable amount of seats,
viz - Democrats - around 228, Republicans - 205
What do you guys think based on this? I hope starting from January 2007, there should be some light.
Thinking ahead, We should work with the democrats, rather than republicans. Citizens of US, who immigrated from India should vote for Democrats and make them win this elections.

So now is the time we all can get together start our effort. No one knows about the result. Atleast some day some one will hear our voice.
This is my first visit to this web site. I have contributed $100 dollars.
Please give help to achive this target. wether it is $1,5,10,20,100,200 etc.
